The C.E.S.M.P. control module has a signalling output and two additional safety control outputs via three override relays. The module has two input channels for acknowledging faults in wires connected to the various emergency stop buttons in series and/or to the safety limit switches. The control is used in machines classified in risk category 4 according to EN 9541.
On the basis of the specifications in Standard EN 602041 in the matter of preventing risks related to untimely machine start-up, the C.E.S.M.P. can be used to monitor the status of the button (S1 P) used to reset the emergency device and the button used to start the machine, if required. In usual conditions, a sudden failure concerning this button could, for example, cause the machine to start up automatically when the emergency stop mushroom button is reset, creating a hazard. This event would be prevented by the C.E.S.M.P. In other words, the device will not work if the button (S1 P) is locked in closed position. In practice, this type of application controls all buttons and limit switches connected to the C.E.S.M.P., consequently eliminating all possible risks related to the machine.
Two input channels can be controlled separately by suitably connecting the C.E.S.M.P., i.e. two limit switches can be connected separated to the two channels.
